This brewery was established in 1860 and is currently run by 3 cousins, descendants of the brewery's founder Emmanuel Slaghmuylder. The brewery possesses its own museum. The biggest attractions are the steam engine and the old bottling machine.
From 1979 the brewery produces "Witkap-Pater". The brewery is equipped with separate fermentation and conditioning cellars for top-fermenting and bottom-fermenting beers, allowing both types of beer to be brewed under ideal circumstances.

Museum

A special museum was created and set up in the former machine workshop. A wealth of old craft tools, beer-related implements and old advertising billboards have been collected over the years. The unique steam engine at the museum might date from 1910 but is still capable of functioning.
