ACCOMMODATION ARRANGEMENT "Best of Beer in Flanders"
Kasteelhof 't Hooghe, built in English cottage-style, is located in the green belt around the town of Ypres. Its 11 luxury rooms offer all conveniences a landlord might desire. Guests will enjoy the exquisite charm of the classical cuisine served at the restaurant and will undoubtedly relish sitting by the open fire, sipping a delicious brandy, or sitting at the bar, sampling some of the tasty Belgian beers on offer. History was made in and around this castle. During WWI it fell into foreign hands repeatedly: first, those of the Germans, then the Brits, then the Germans again and finally the Allies. The premises had the doubtful honour of being the first to be introduced to "mustard gas". It was here that Gilbert Talbot died. He is buried at the Sanctuary Wood Cemetery close-by.
